New Years 2015

Art

Belated Happy New Years everyone! Over the New Years day, my family and I celebrated my mum’s birthday. We went to Olvera Street in Los Angeles and ate dinner at one of the Mexican restaurants, La Golondrina Cafe. If you go to Olvera Street, I highly recommend this restaurant because they serve authentic Mexican food. Before we went to lunch, there was a spiritual blessing of Olvera Street by people dressed up as their Native American ancestors. The costumes and makeup were elaborate. It was a great historic experience and you really felt like you are back in time. We asked the waiter at the restaurant if it was a tradition and he said yes, every year there is a blessing. If you are heading to LA around the New Years, go to Olvera Street! Below are some photos and enjoy!
