The Met Opera

Art, Fashion

Friday night, April 17, 2015 I went on a school trip to the Met Opera and we saw the production of Aida. The opera was fantastic and the production was spectacular. You can see the heavy amount of detail that goes from the lighting to the costume designs. There was this particular dress Aida wore and it was emerald green. The drapery of the dress fit perfectly to the actress and whenever she moved, the dress glided with her.

Before the event, the group of students and I when to the Italian restaurant in the Upper West Side, Joanne. Lady Gaga’s parents own the restaurant and it was the same place we ate last year. The food is always amazing there and I was fortunate enough to go the the opera and the restaurant for the two years in a row. If you would like to make reservations, here is a link to the website: http://www.joannenyc.com/reservations/.

As for my outfit, it is from Forever 21 but the rings are from H&M. I recently bought the dress and fell in love with the back of the dress. The dress reminds of the 1970s and this is the latest trend for spring/summer. I wanted to dress up the dress with my gray suede shoes to balance to contrast of the outfit. The small green bag just adds a little bit of color and simple jewelry with the color palate of gold.

Here are some photos of the night:

If anyone has the opportunity to go to the Met Opera, I highly recommend going because it can expand your perspective on culture and the arts. Also, if you would like to see a show, here is a link to the Met Opera: http://www.metopera.org/.
