#NewMusicTuesday: #YoungtheGiant #HomeoftheStrange

Art, Videos

My best friends and I recently went to see Young the Giant at Radio City Music Hall. The band is spectacular live and it was one of the most fun concerts I have been to. Literally, they were perfect live and had two encores toward the end of the show. If you have the chance to see them on tour now. GO. YTG IS WORTH IT.

The song I chose is “Mr. Know-It-All” because it reflects what is happening in today’s culture. Many people constantly feel alone, even with the help of technology and people do not really know who the real person is sometimes. It is sad to see we’re all “Mr. Know-It-Alls” because people constantly feel judged too and we are in the age of the overthinking.

Enjoy this song and happy Tuesday everyone!

#NewMusicTuesday: Stromae

Art, Videos

Rap is an universal genre of music and one Renaissance man has changed French rap. His name is Stromae and he is an overall artist. There is a deep meaning to each of his songs that discuss the real issues people have in today’s society. Stromae takes his artwork further and uses his music videos that cleverly connect with his powerful lyrics. The song, “Carmen” is profound and explains how consumerism has taken over society. Also, he mentions how it is ironic to see how people are only obsessed getting followers on Twitter by feeding the Twitter bird. Sadly, everyone dies and are not remembered. The cycle never ends and the Twitter bird finds its next victim.

He is poet and recently he posted his full concert, Racine Carrée Live on YouTube. His music speaks for itself and the use of special effects is captivating. Enjoy the live concert!

#NewMusicTuesday: Disclosure + Lorde

Videos

Disclosure has one of the best collaborations in music and their new album, Caracal does not disappoint. Finally, Disclosure and Lorde officially have a song together called, “Magnets.” The music video has a deep plot and viewers must pay attention. The artistry of the video captivates how heroic Lorde is and teaming up with the wife is brilliant.

Enjoy!

#NewMusicTuesday: Leon Bridges

Videos

I adore the music of 1960s era and there was a commercial featuring the music of Leon Bridges. His music reminded me of the records my dad plays and the 60s era.

The song that was featured was, “Coming Home” from his album, Coming Home and the song has a classic feel to it.

Hope everyone’s Tuesday is well and play some sweet soul music to relax.

#NewMusicTuesday: Beck

Art, Videos

Beck released a new single, Monday, June 15 and it is different of what we know of his mellow alternative rock. His single is called, “Dreams” and it is up-beat. The single has an electronic vibe to it and catchy as well. Personally, I really like this song and it can be a summer hit.

The cover art for “Dreams” has the perfect fit to the single and whimsical representation of a dream.

Cheers to Beck and I cannot wait what he has in-store for his next album.

#NewMusicTuesday: T-Swift

Videos

The fashion in Taylor Swift’s latest music video, “Bad Blood,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, is athletic and chic. It reminded me of Alexander Wang’s commercial for his collaboration with H&M. Every moment of the music video was produced well and kudos to Swift producing her video. I adore her red hair on the last clip of the video and she needs to dye it ASAP. There are no words how fabulous the hair and makeup were also.
My favourite outfit Swift wore was the white latex two-piece skirt and top. The outfit fits perfectly with the futuristic theme and she looks great!
Swift has brought her A-game to the fashion industry and has become one of the top fashionias everyone knows today.

#NewMusicTuesday: Big Data + Jamie Lidell

Videos

Here is to the almost summer and the long await for long beach days! Cheers to Big Data and Jamie Lidell collaborating on a soon-to-be summer track of the season. The song is called, “Clean” and Big Data’s album, “2.0” is now available on Spotify and iTunes.

Also, last summer my sister, a couple of friends of mine and I saw Big Data open for Magic Man at The Grove in Los Angeles. He was pretty good and he played some of his songs from the album.

There are free concerts there every summer and when The Grove posts dates on who is playing; I will let you all know!

Enjoy!

#NewMusicTuesday: Madeon

Videos

J’adore Madeon! His new album, “Adventure,” came out Friday, March 27 on iTunes and was released today, March 31 on Spotify. One of my favourite tracks on his deluxe album is, “La Lune,” which features Bastille’s lead singer, Dan Smith. The sound of Smith’s voice is perfection and the beats of Madeon are airy. In Madeon’s album, he does take his listeners on an adventure through cohesive tracks, one after the other.

Do not forget to grab a copy out today and enjoy!
