Yes…I know I have not written a new music Tuesday post in a while. However, I have a treat for you today and it is One Republic’s “Born.” This song is one of my favorites on their new album, “Oh My My.” It is beautifully written and it is simply a love song to the city. The city is filled with possibilities finding love, family and new life. I can personally relate to this song because when I moved to NYC for school I felt the same way. Since this is my last year of college, this song sums up my experience and future in this city. However, I understand I was not born here, I believe me finding my own roots is humbling.
For all the new New Yorkers, listen to the song here:
The concert series my roommate, Amani and I have been to three concerts for the past three weeks has finally ended. The last show we saw was Thursday, September 29 at the Highline Ballroom.
Literally, I thought Amani was joking I was not prepared seeing Thirdstory. Ha…she was right. The whole time I was speechless and I could not believe how unreal they are. Their vocals were perfect and they even sounded better live.
They had done many of their covers and a few original songs. It was a blessing to see their last show of their tour. PEOPLE, GO SEE THEM LIVE AND LISTEN TO THEM NOW. ASAP.
Hopefully, Thirdstory’s new album will come out soon…time will tell.
Here is a favorite song of mine from their “Searching EP” and it is called, “G Train.” It is witty, expressing their hardships not getting the girl they want to bed and end up taking the slowest train back home — which is the G train.
My best friends and I recently went to see Young the Giant at Radio City Music Hall. The band is spectacular live and it was one of the most fun concerts I have been to. Literally, they were perfect live and had two encores toward the end of the show. If you have the chance to see them on tour now. GO. YTG IS WORTH IT.
The song I chose is “Mr. Know-It-All” because it reflects what is happening in today’s culture. Many people constantly feel alone, even with the help of technology and people do not really know who the real person is sometimes. It is sad to see we’re all “Mr. Know-It-Alls” because people constantly feel judged too and we are in the age of the overthinking.
Enjoy this song and happy Tuesday everyone!
Disclosure has one of the best collaborations in music and their new album, Caracal does not disappoint. Finally, Disclosure and Lorde officially have a song together called, “Magnets.” The music video has a deep plot and viewers must pay attention. The artistry of the video captivates how heroic Lorde is and teaming up with the wife is brilliant.
I adore the music of 1960s era and there was a commercial featuring the music of Leon Bridges. His music reminded me of the records my dad plays and the 60s era.
The song that was featured was, “Coming Home” from his album, Coming Home and the song has a classic feel to it.
Hope everyone’s Tuesday is well and play some sweet soul music to relax.

Beck released a new single, Monday, June 15 and it is different of what we know of his mellow alternative rock. His single is called, “Dreams” and it is up-beat. The single has an electronic vibe to it and catchy as well. Personally, I really like this song and it can be a summer hit.
The cover art for “Dreams” has the perfect fit to the single and whimsical representation of a dream.
Cheers to Beck and I cannot wait what he has in-store for his next album.

The fashion in Taylor Swift’s latest music video, “Bad Blood,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, is athletic and chic. It reminded me of Alexander Wang’s commercial for his collaboration with H&M. Every moment of the music video was produced well and kudos to Swift producing her video. I adore her red hair on the last clip of the video and she needs to dye it ASAP. There are no words how fabulous the hair and makeup were also.
My favourite outfit Swift wore was the white latex two-piece skirt and top. The outfit fits perfectly with the futuristic theme and she looks great!
Swift has brought her A-game to the fashion industry and has become one of the top fashionias everyone knows today.

It is never too late to publish a #NewMusicTuesday post! This song was free on iTunes a while ago and I cannot remember when I purchased it. However, the beat to the song called, “Kings & Queens” by Brooke Fraser. The song is 70s inspired and goes perfectly with the spring/summer trend. This song can take anyone to Coachella and Fraser’s voice is dreamy.
In the music video, I like how the video was treated as an art piece that featured sports and dance. The illusion of power works well with the lyrics. However, it does take time to find power in ourselves.
Also, the studded leather jacket Fraser was wearing…I need it.

It’s officially Tuesday again and hope everyone’s day is doing well. Zedd is here to save the day with his latest track, “Addicted To A Memory” and I cannot wait for his new album to come out. Here is the audio video of the track!

Here is to the almost summer and the long await for long beach days! Cheers to Big Data and Jamie Lidell collaborating on a soon-to-be summer track of the season. The song is called, “Clean” and Big Data’s album, “2.0” is now available on Spotify and iTunes.
Also, last summer my sister, a couple of friends of mine and I saw Big Data open for Magic Man at The Grove in Los Angeles. He was pretty good and he played some of his songs from the album.
There are free concerts there every summer and when The Grove posts dates on who is playing; I will let you all know!
